Hear65 announce the four acts going straight from Singapore to BIGSOUND

After introducing the musical world to the industry experts that handpicked the acts, The National Arts Council Singapore has revealed the four talented locals that will be headlining the Hear65 showcase at BIGSOUND 2018.

For more information about the showcase, head over to the official Facebook event.

Charlie Lim

Signing with Universal music in 2016, Lim became known for his eclectic musical style that ranges from neo-soul to post-rock to electro-pop and back again. His debut album TIME/SPACE made it’s way to the #1 spot on iTunes Singapore upon its release and his body of work has racked up over 4.5 million streams on Spotify.

A follow-up album is slated for release before the end of the year so now is the best time to jump aboard the Lim bandwagon.

Intriguant

The only producer and DJ in the mix, Intriguant (aka Louis Quek) dabbles in electronic music that’s grounded in humanity. Establishing himself as an artist to watch in 2014 with his debut EP Ellipse, Quek quickly found fans across the world which eventually led to his debut album, 2017’s Recluse.

He’s shared the stage with other production luminaries such as Thomas Schumacher, Teebs, Flying Lotus and more but now he’s going to dominate the BIGSOUND stage.

Linying

This singer-songwriter rose to public attention for her collaborations with house music giants like Felix Jaehn and Lost Frequencies which saw her share in a #1 track on Hype Machine and 50 million Spotify spins.

When she branched out to her solo career the accolades just kept coming. Signing label deals with Universal Music, Nettwerk Music Group, and Akira Records, her first single in 2018, Tall Order, was helped along from a reigning endorsement from Aussie pop prince Troye Sivan.

The Steve McQueens

Just like their maverick namesake, The Steve McQueens refuse to be pedestrian. Delivering a unique mix of neo-vintage soul-funk (a genre that they pioneered), the cool collective present a sound that is rarely heard.

Composed of four talented musicians, Ginny Bloop, Joshua Wan, Jase Sng and Aaron James Lee, when the band touch down in Brisbane this September they will be fresh off their third tour of Japan.

Hear65 at Bigsound 2018 will be held at Ric’s Big Backyard in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley on September 5.
