Guy Sebastian has capped off a huge 2019 with a TMN Most Added title for new single ‘Let Me Drink’.

The track, featuring The HamilTones & Wale, saw off stiff competition in the form of releases by Billie Eilish and Khalid, as well as a remix of Taylor Swift’s ‘Lover’ featuring Shawn Mendes.

Eilish was playlisted ATB by triple j early on, before both she and Sebastian were added by the Hit Regional Network. Support from all five Nova stations, as well as both KIIS Network stations and 97.3FM sealed the deal for ‘Let Me Drink’.

“I reckon it probably took 15 minutes to write,” Sebastian said of the new single.

“I started singing that ‘Come on let me drink’ melody, I could immediately hear the background vocals and I just knew it had to be a call-and-response thing. And then I sat down and nutted out a standard blues chord progression.

“With me, I write really quickly if I’m led by something.”

Taylor Swift’s ‘Lover’ places third, with the addition of  Mendes breathing new life into the song three months after claiming its own Most Added title.

Rising country star Brad Cox breaks into the Top 5 after receiving wide support from the Triple M metro and regional networks for his new single ‘Give Me Tonight’, his first release since signing with Sony Music Entertainment.
