Gum Ball not returning in 2015
Weekend camping festival The Gum Ball has announced it won’t return in 2015.
Organisers have cited a much-needed break after celebrating its 10th anniversary in April this year.
“It’s been a big 10 years building and we’re far from over, we just plan to take some time early next year to refresh, plan a further Dashville event, get married, travel, perhaps even record an album ourselves,” said festival organiser, Matt ’Magpie’ Johnston.
Organisers have also unveiled a one-off overnight camping concert; Dashville On Main Street is a tribute to the Rolling Stones and will be held Friday November 14, the day prior to The Rolling Stones’ concert at Hope Estate vineyard. The event will feature The Dashville Progress Society and yet-to-be-announced support acts; it will be BYO.
The lineup for Gum Balls’s 10th Anniversary return edition featured Hoodoo Gurus, Jinja Safari, Wolf & Cub and Ngaiire.
Gum Ball’s sister festival PigSty in July will run as planned on July 4 and organisers have said they’re working toward a weekend festival for next October.
