Guinness World Records confirms remote music festival’s bid for world’s largest nutbush dance
Guinness World Records has ticked a bid by Queensland’s remote Birdsville Big Red Bash to get into the history books.
Last month it drew 9,000 to see John Farnham, The Angels, Daryl Braithwaite and Hoodoo Gurus.
On the final morning of the festival, the world’s largest nutbush dance was performed with 1,719 literally kicking up the (red) dust to a dance inspired by Tina Turner’s hit Nutbush City Limits.
The $5 entry “fee” raised $10,000 for the festival’s charity partner, the Royal Flying Doctor Service.
