Gang Of Youths to livestream sold-out London show on TikTok

Australian musical expats Gang Of Youths are set to stream their first headline show in over two years this weekend via TikTok.

The group’s sold-out show at the Lafayette London will be broadcast live on the app from 7pm AEST on Sunday, August 15 via the band’s own TikTok account, @gangofyouths.

The concert, which sold out in less than five minutes, will mark Gang Of Youths’ first live show since performing at the Fire Fight Australia Melbourne benefit concert in February 2020, with the band noting their excitement at returning to the stage.

“We wanted you wonderful people who have supported us to be able to tune in to our first show back, no matter where you live. Hopefully we can do it in person as soon as possible. Keep safe and enjoy the show.”

TikTok’s local director of music, Ollie Wards, said that the performance would provide a brief moment of reprieve for those who are stuck in lockdown across Australia.

“We can’t wait to take Gang of Youths fans around the world to the front row for this special show on TikTok,” Wards exclaimed.

“One of Australia’s best live acts, this is a show you won’t have to miss out on – even if you’re in lockdown.”

Originally formed in Sydney, Gang Of Youths relocated to London in 2019 following their record-breaking Say Yes To Life Tour. 

The group marked its return earlier this year with the release of surprise EP total serene, serving as their first release since their ARIA Award-winning 2017 LP Go Farther In Lightness.
