Foo Fighters almost certain to lock in the number #1 this weekend
The past few weeks have seen a pleasing run of number ones, with the likes of Paul Kelly, QOTSA and Gangs of Youths all occupying the top spot.
This week the run of rock at #1 looks likely to continue (having said that, this week’s number 1 is ARIA Number 1 Hits In Symphony by Anthony Callea, so it’s not all rock) with Foo Fighters’ Concrete and Gold almost certain to number #1, no doubt almost due to streams by Triple M alone.
This will mark the band’s sixth number one album in Australia, including their best of collection. Surprisingly, it’s their most recent albums, such as Wasting Light, Echoes, Silence Patience and Grace, and Sonic Highways, that have tended to hit #1 in our country, a result of their continual ramping up here.
Elsewhere, Angus and Julia Stone’s Snow should debut at #2 or #3, with Prophets Of Rage’s debut album expected to debut somewhere in the Top 5. Gang Of Youths should jump back into the Top 5 too, after sliding to #10 this week.
As always, the charts will be out on Saturday, 6pm.
