Face The Music program features ’Focus on The Living End’

Former Editor

Face The Music has announced its full conference program will feature an in-depth conversation with all three members of The Living End.

Presented by APRA AMCOS, ’Focus on The Living End’ will see Chris Cheney, Scott Owen and Andy Strachan – with their longtime manager Rae Harvey – discuss the stories behind their songs, their songwriting process, the highs and lows and their upcoming seventh album.

Face The Music will open its two-day conference in Melbourne next month with a study of the Australasian artists who infiltrated international markets this year. ’I Come From A Band Down Under’ will see people who work closest with Lorde, The Presets and Courtney Barnett discuss the new interest in Australasian music.

Back again this year is the Splendour Forum Debate, which will pose the question: “Will there ever be another Elvis?” to Pinky Beecroft, Cherry Bomb author Jenny Valentish, publicity maven Chrissie Vincent, writers Marcus Teague and Jess McGuire and R.I.P Society’s Nic Warnock.

Taking part in this year’s twelve small group creative workshops and one-on-one industry meetings are: Kirin J Callinan, Gossling, Nai Palm (Hiatus Kaiyote), Tommy Spender, Oscar Key Sung, Alex Akers (Forces), Pip Norman, Matt Ridgway (Winterpark), MoMO (Diafrix), Tim Shiel (Faux Pas, Gotye) and Joelistics. Register at facethemusic.com.au.

Finally, Face The Music ha added 18 new speakers to the mix including Hazel Savage of Pandora, a new partner to the conference, music lawyers David Vodicka, Sean Mullins, Yasmin Naghavi and Darren Sanicki and Australia Council’s Ian Whitney.
