Exclusive: Samsaruh inks deal with The Preatures’ booking agency
Samsaruh, the teenage singer-songwriter and producer out of Melbourne, has joined the Select Music roster, TIO can exclusively reveal.
Select Music, which represents the likes of Holy Holy, The Preatures, Ball Park Music, Peter Garrett and Ngaiire, will handle Samsaruh’s Australia and New Zealand bookings.
It’s a fitting reward for a youngster whose career is shaping nicely with a debut single “Golden To Thrive” added to full rotation on triple j and earning a rave review from the network’s head of music Nick Findlay. Only nineteen, Samsaruh’s story has been building for five years. While still at school she landed a slot on the Splendour in the Grass lineup and at 16 she dropped the EP ‘Orenda,’ which scored rotation on Triple J Unearthed.
“We are always looking for acts that stand out from the pack and after hearing Golden To Thrive and seeing her perform live I know Samsaruh will be a marquee artist for many years to come,” comments Select Music owner Stephen Wade. “Stunning performances and maturity beyond her years makes her the perfect fit for the Select Music family.”
Jesse Flavell at SUM Management had this to say: “We’re very excited to be working with Stephen, Katie and the awesome team at Select. Sam is an incredible artist and the response to her first single has been overwhelming. We look forward to building her live career with this great team. (And their pet lizard)”
Samsaruh will head back out on the road as the main support for the upcoming Oct-Nov Dean Lewis tour and she’s already booking festival dates for the summer, according to a rep.
