Exclusive: Owen Campbell inks US booking deal
US booking agency Northstar Artists have announced Owen Campbell as the latest addition to their artist roster.
The Australian singer-songwriter will be joining Northstar’s rock alumni, which includes the likes of Ace Frehley, Rusted Root, Soul Asylum and Iris Dement.
Campbell told TMN that joining the Northstar family felt “fantastic.”
“It’s been a lot of back and forth between the States. They’re really supportive and believing in what we’re doing,” he said.
Campbell revealed that the deal with the booking agency was proposed only fiveweeks ago, when he met owner Kevin Daly on tour.
“I had just recorded the new album with Devon Allman and I went on the road with him for a few shows. The director of Northstar came to the show in Minneapolis and really enjoyed it – and the rest is history, I guess.”
The Canberra native has finalised the recording process of his yet titled album, due for release next year. On his working relationship with Northstar, Campbell is positive that the booking agency will organise bigger shows and more venues for him to play at.
“I love touring in the States and I love doing bigger shows,” he said.“I met Kevin and I really enjoyed his company, and I personally really got along with him. I feel like that’s always a start to a great working relationship. So whatever comes, I’m happy. He’s already come forward with a bunch of tours that I can possibly get on to; they look fantastic and I’m excited.”
Campbell is set to tour Australia during May 10th – 31st. Fans can expect a show full of tracks from his upcoming album.
“We’ll be launching the new album so it’ll just be a full set of new material we recorded in Memphis. Just some good ol’ rock n roll!”
