Exclusive: Katie Noonan beats crowdfunding target in less than 48 hours

Last Thursday 4x ARIA Award winner Katie Noonan launched her EP Peace Is My Drug with a crowdfunding campaign, and in less than 48 hours she surpassed the target.

Noonan made the EP available exclusively through PledgeMusic with 5% of all funds generated going to non-profit charity Beyond Blue. While the actual monetary figure of the goal won’t be disclosed (PledgeMusic doesn't disclose this information)currently, it’s at 128% of the target.

Noonan said of the response to her EP: “It is also exciting on another level as it feels like this is a genuine way of the future for record making and for creating shared experiences into the creative process with like-minded people.

“I have always felt that audience and artist are equally important at a live concert – the energy exchange, the mutual respect and the shared connectivity. Now I feel similarly about the album making process – it is a new and awesome feeling! Thank you, thank you, thank you for allowing me to do what I do and I can't wait to share this album with you. Very exciting!”

Additional to receiving the EP download this Julyin exchange for all pledges, fans can still pledge for: artist mentorship programs, signed Leunig ‘Peace Is My Drug’ prints, a video of Noonan performing a favourite cover song and an at-home private concert.

Peace Is My Drug is five tracks: the title track – based around the Michael Leunig poem Peacefeaturing a second verse which Leunig created exclusively for thesong – the track Cloud of Home, and three remixes of the title track.
