Exclusive: Australia’s new global marketing service announces first project

Yesterday, Australia and New Zealand became the latest territories to be serviced by global marketing and promotions company International Solutions; today the company announced its first deal to hit Australasia.

TMN can exclusively reveal that International Solutions will push the latest album by New York band, and new 300 Entertainment signing, Coheed and Cambria in North America, Europe and Australasia.

Inked to the label founded by former Warner Music Group recorded music bossLyor Cohen, Coheed and Cambria will release eighth album The Color Before The Sun on October 9 in the US. First single You Got Spirit, Kid is available to stream via Coheedandcambria.com, with the digital download of the single available July 10.

“Coheed and Cambria have a created a lane and a legacy for themselves that is very much their own," said Lyor Cohen."Their DIY approach fits the ethos of 300. They’ve taken some brave artistic steps on this forthcoming new album and we are looking forward to sharing it with the world.”

The record will mark the band’s first ever non-conceptual album and follows 2012’s critically acclaimed double albumThe Afterman. Vocalist/guitarist Claudio Sanchez commented on the departure from the ongoing comic book and single seriesThe Amory Wars.

"I kind of want people to know that Coheed can write that sort of record. I've always said in the past that there's never been a limitation on the band. It makes no sense to me to draw a line in the sand and never cross it."

International Solutions launched in Australia and New Zealand yesterday;Founder and CIO, Paolo d'Alessandro appointed Alpha Entertainment Founder/DirectorVictoria Ciesiolka as its Territory Manager. Speaking to TMN,Ciesiolka said the partnership with 300 Entertainment anddistributor ADA means the band's album campiagn is representedon the ground in each release territory.

"With Australia being a key territory for the band, the launch of the IS office herecouldn’t have come atbetter time as theywere able to secure one team to work the album world wide,"Ciesiolka told TMN. "For any artist releasing a single or record or heading out on tour in any territory, anything less than a dedicated team committed to working specifically for them really does mean leaving many variables to chance."

Having previously worked with international artists includingThe Wombats, Muse,Green Day andFoals as well as local actsCiesiolka said her experience lead her to believe the local industry was lacking theinfrastructure needed to push acts throughinternational label affiliates.

"For example, over the years I worked a multi-Platinum Australian artist who has had incredible success domestically! The next logical step (in my mind) was to have their multi-Platinum album released internationally. What became very obvious at that point in time, was that the label didn’t have the infrastructure in place to push the international label affiliates to option the album and commit to a release strategy," she offered."Instead, the bands incredible manager took the initiative and relocated overseas pitching the album / band to international labels and finally secured a deal. The band saw some solid success in some European markets and the US but this was due to the hard work of the band themselves and their manager.

"From that point on, I’ve consistently questioned why there isn’t a more natural path of progression to successfully work a domestic artist (whether they be signed or independent) internationally,"Ciesiolka added. "I’ve always felt there was a hole in the market for a team of promo and marketing people in key locations who are literally boots on the ground dealing with local media, labels, or relevant partners to successfully execute all aspects of single / album / video release or to set up tour marketing and PR. The launch of International Solutions in this territory now offers artists, labels and managers an option to take their artist to that next level with a dedicated senior team in key international markets."

d'Alessandro in a statement:"I am particularly delighted to have Victoria on board, with her vast experience, passion for music and knowledge of the market I know we have taken a strong first step towards the development of our Australian base."

A member of the American Association of International Music, Independent Solutions has previously worked with Universal Music Japan, RCA, Live Nation, Sony Music, Razor & Tie and Wind-Up Records.
