Eventbrite hires three music industry veterans

Eventbrite, the world’s largest self-service ticketing platform, has deepened its presence in the nightlife and dance music sectors in the US.

The platform announced three strategic hires for its US operations yesterday: Senthil Chidambaram, the Founder and CEO of dance music website Dancing Astronaut; Barak Schurr, a Nightclub Hall of Fame Inductee and the Founder of nightlife, EDM and event ticketing company Wantickets.com; and Diego Carlin, the CEO of Wantickets.com.

The hires further Eventbrite’s commitment to the dance music and festival sector. Its recent high-profile customer wins include Ministry of Sound, WOMAD and Margin Walker Presents.

Donnie Estopinal, founder of global dance music eventand festival producer Disco Donnie Presents, said Eventbrite took his company’sevents to a newlevel.

“Eventbrite has proven themselves as a reliable long-term partner that consistently innovates to keep our community happy and it’s no surprise that they were able to attract such strong industry talent,” said Estopinal.

Greg Patterson, director of music and live events at Eventbrite, said of the three new hires:

We look forward to marrying their deep industry knowledge with our global leadership in event technology to better serve this important and fast-growing part of the music ecosystem.”

Eventbrite Australia also boasts a strong music industry team. Kelly Burge, its Senior Account Manager, was previously Operations Manager at white label ticketing company GreenTix and also Sponsorship Manager at Kyneton Music Festival.At GreenTix, Burge’s festival clients included Laneway, Falls Festival, Pyramid Rock, Meredith Music Festival, Golden Plains, Secret Garden, Jazz in the Vines, and Gentlemen of the Road.

Eventbrite Australia’s Head of Music Partnerships, Chris McDonnell has almost a decade of ticketing experience. McDonnell recently moved from Eventbrite UK to head up the company’s music initiative in Australia.

Eventbrite powers over two million events around the globe each year. Its high-profile Australian clients include Beyond the Valley, Let Them Eat Cake, Rainbow Serpent, Melbourne Music Week and Electronic Music Conference.
