Embassy Music Publishing renews A&R Dept. agreement
The newly established Australian publisher Embassy Music Publishing has renewed its global administration agreement with The A&R Department.
Embassy Music is part of the Music Sales Group, which aside from Sydney, also has offices in London, New York, Los Angeles, Paris, Berlin, Madrid, Copenhagen, Tokyo and Hong Kong.
The A&R Department was set up by former Warner Music Australia A&R manager Matt O’Connor to discover new local talent with global export potential.
It has a catalogue of 850 words.
O’Connor sees the new partnership as an invaluable asset to promoting Australian music here and abroad.
He says “It was a no-brainer to continue working alongside Jane (English, managing director of Music Sales Australia), and the fab Embassy team!
“A&R Department has created a wonderful and diverse catalogue over the years working with developing artists who cover all different genres, and with the help of Embassy’s global publishing/synch teams, we have seen some wonderful results thus far.
“The relationship provides the opportunity and platform for developing artists and writers to have their content pitched professionally into domestic and global markets.
“Onwards and upwards!”
Jane English adds, “We are very happy to continue our successful relationship with Matt & co at The A&R Department, a company that has a unique winning formula of support for developing local artists/writers.
“The past two years have seen Embassy’s creative department pitch that catalogue relentlessly, achieving some wonderful global synchs by artists/writers including Harts, The Montreals, Essie Holt, Lydia Shubert, Luke Fox and Taylor Payne.
“We are on track to rev up more future activity for this catalogue under our continuing relationship.”
