Songwriter, producer and music publicist, Eilish Gilligan, has created a PR and social media agency.
The new venture, Star Crossed, said its point of difference is it is ‘by artists, for artists’.
Artists using the agency will be able to pick and choose the services that are right for their needs and budget. It will offer extensive publicity and social media campaigns, as well as personal consultations and a variety of writing services.
The agency will also capitalise on Gilligan’s ability to tap into social media to build community. The artist already extensively uses TikTok and is a partner on the live-streaming service Twitch.
Gilligan has released two EPs over the past two years and has garnered over one million streams on Spotify. She won Best Producer at the Music Victoria Awards last year for her work on the self-written, self-produced EP, Hospital.
In addition to her musical accolades, she’s been working in music publicity since 2015.
Gilligan said she wanted to start an agency with the artist experience at the fore.
“As both a practicing musician and a publicist, I bring a unique perspective to the campaigns I run. I know the pressures that artists are under when planning and executing a release – I feel them all myself,” she said.
“Star Crossed is something I’ve been working on behind the scenes for a long time,” she added. “I wanted Star Crossed to reflect the needs of any modern-day musician. Our services list has options for everyone at every budget, and I’m really proud of that.”
