Dua Lipa takes aim at Richard Wilkins for “talking out your arse” about show cancellations

Richard Wilkins‘ credibility as Channel 9’s chief entertainment reporter has taken a dive over the past 24 hours, after he called out UK singer-singwriterDua Lipa for cancelling a number of her Australian Bruno Mars support shows, to apparently go on Jimmy Kimmel Live instead.

Appearing onToday, Wilkins questioned the artist’s decision to cancel the shows, which Dua Lipaexplained last week were due to urgent surgery to remove wisdom teeth.

“Now get this, she was supposed to be here in Australia opening up for Bruno Mars on his ’24K World Tour’, but Dua Lipa cancelled her appearances last weekend, as a result of having to have immediate surgery to have her wisdom teeth removed,”said Wilkins onToday.

“But get this, here she is last night onJimmy Kimmel Live!”

Dua Lipa wasn’t having any of it, accusing Wilkins of being a bad journalist and failing to do his due diligence when it came to research.

“Lol @RichardWilkins if you were a good journalist you would’ve done proper research instead of talking out of your ass,” she tweeted.

“Jimmy Kimmel was shot in Feb in La and aired yesterday. I’ve been in Australia on bed rest and wouldn’tve cancelled my Bruno shows if I didn’t have to.”

Wilkins has since apologised, tweeting “Didn’t mean to misinform. Assumed you were live with Jimmy K. Your fans and my son have severely castigated me.”
