Downtown Music Publishing appoints Stef Patch as sync manager
The Downtown Music Publishing team is growing.
Less than 18 months after opening for business in Sydney, Stef Patch joins the independent music publisher as sync manager, Australia & New Zealand.
Patch holds a Bachelor of Music Studies from the Conservatorium of Music, Griffith University and has accumulated a wealth of experience with such companies as Nightlife Music, MCPS/PRS, Universal Production Music, Universal Music Australia, Spotify and, more recently, as an independent music supervisor.
During her eight-plus years in the industry, Patch has worked around the globe, with stints in Brisbane, Sydney, London and Stockholm.
In this newly-created role, Patch will focus on new business, synchronisation licensing and creative services across Australasia, reporting to Rachel Kelly, creative director & head of sync, in Sydney, joining Downtown’s global sync team with offices in New York, Los Angeles, Nashville, London, Amsterdam, Paris and Tokyo.
The addition of Patch to the Downtown team comes after a flourish of successes for the music company, which recently celebrated its first anniversary operating out of Australia.
Since the launch of its Down Under office last February, Downtown has enjoyed successes with The Teskey Brothers, and Stella Donnelly, whose albums debuted at No. 1 on the Australian Independent Artist chart, and John Butler Trio, whose latest LP Home vaulted to No. 1 on the ARIA Albums Chart.
Kelly was recognised for the first time in Billboard’s International Power Players 2019 list, published last month.
Each of those artists has amassed over 1 million streams on multiple songs. “The numbers reflect a lot of hustle, with more to come,” says Kelly.
