$30K Australian Music Prize back in 2016

PRESS RELEASE:

The 12th AMP (Australian Music Prize) proudly returns for another year to recognise and promote excellence in Australian music, and the judging panel made up of 14 industry figures have already started listening to albums released in 2016 to find the 12th AMP Winner.

All albums released between 1 January 2016 and 31 December 2016 are automatically considered for the 12th AMP, with the winner announced in March 2017 and awarded $30,000 in prize money courtesy of PPCA.

The only criteria is that it must be an Australian artist(s), a new release in 2016, and be at least 9 tracks long or minimum of 33 minutes/20 seconds of music.

With an anticipated 300 albums to be released by Australian artists in 2016, we just ask to be notified via Facebook or [email protected]to make sure we don’t miss any albums – we need to know before November 30 of all 2016 album releases! Please let us know the artist name, album title, release date and if possible, a link to the album in Spotify.

Melbourne based singer/songwriter Courtney Barnett was the winner of the 11th AMP for her album ‘Sometimes I Sit and Think, Sometimes I Just Sit’.

The 2016 judging panel includes a mix of industry experts in their field as artists, journalists or retailers. The judging panel is:
