Doja Cat scores her first #1 Aussie radio hit with ‘Say So’

Doja Cat has leapt to the top of the Australian airplay chart, with her viral TikTok single ‘Say So’ becoming her first #1 hit on the TMN Hot 100 powered by Radio Monitor.

The catchy tune, which has its own dance on TikTok, knocks off last week’s #1 Justin Bieber to claim the top spot. ‘Say So’ has spent 14 weeks on the chart so far.

The remix of ‘Say So’ was released just last week, featuring acclaimed rapper and singer Nicki Minaj.

Other significant changes to the Top 10 songs at Aussie radio this week include New Zealand act BENEE crack the Top 5 for the first time with ‘Supalonely’ ft. Gus Dapperton. The song’s popularity has also been propelled by TikTok popularity.

Dua Lipa is eying off another chart topper, as ‘Physical’ climbs three frames to #6 this week. She already has a #1 single on the Hot 100 this year with ‘Don’t Stop Now’.

There’s also a new peak for American singer-songwriter Brando, who jumps to #7 this week, as ‘Look Into My Eyes’ hits the Top 10 for the first time.

Aussie Sam Fischer is also rising, with ‘This City’ having a new high-point of #15, while the highest debut this week goes to Hilltop Hoods for their isolation-inspired single ‘I’m Good?’ (#38).

Stay tuned to TMN next week to read our breakdown of how TikTok’s rise has impacted music programming for Australia’s biggest radio networks.

There’s a new #1 song on the TMN Country Hot 50 as well, as The McClymonts claim the top spot with their new single ‘I Got This’.

The single by the Aussie sister trio has now spent eight weeks on the chart, and breaks Casey Barnes’ stranglehold on the #1 position this week.

There’s a decent shake-up in the Top 10 of the chart as well, with Dixie Chicks rising to #2 thanks to ‘Gaslighter’ and The Wolfe Brothers also achieving a new peak, springing 10 places upwards with ‘No Breaks’ (#3).

The highest debut on the country chart this week goes to Keith Urban with new single ‘Polaroid’.
