Digital Chart Wrap: Nico & Vinz continue their climb
The most recent digital charts see some much needed movement in the top three main charts. First and foremost , the Shazam 100 sees a new #3 as Waves by Mr Probz jumps from last week’s #5. Elsewhere in the top 10 Ella Henderson’s Ghost is now #9 after jumping from #10. The Madden Brothers also make their first appearance in the top 10 with We Are Done landing at #10 from last weeks #15. Some more impressive movement is seen in the top 50 with the latest single from alt-J climbing up the ranks to #46 from last weeks #68. Tiesto’s Wasted featuring Matthew Koma also made lengthy leaps this week jumping from #71 to #32, which indicates that this banger is being played almost everywhere in Australia at the moment.
There are plenty of high debuts this week; at #40, 5 Seconds Of Summer enter the Shazam 100 chart with their latest single Amnesia. At #41 is Won’t Let You Down by Hilltop Hoods featuring Maverick Sabre and the latest single from Milky Chance Flashed unk Mind has entered the Shazam chart at #50 this week – very strong for its first week at radio.
This weeks Spotify 20 sees Am I Wrong by Nico & Vinz take #2 from Ariana Grande’s Problem featuring Iggy Azalea. It jumped from #4, pushing past Stolen Dance by Milky Chance as well. In the rest of the top 10 we can see Ed Sheeran’s Sing push through to #8 from #14 as well as Sia’s Chandelier just managing to crawl up one place to #10.
There hasn’t been much in the way of large movement in the Spotify chart this week but we do see another track enter. Don’t by Ed Sheeran came in at #20, which means that the UK singer songwriter now has two tracks in the Spotify 20.
For three weeks now Iggy Azalea has had two of her tracks topping the ARIA Streaming chart. At #1 is Fancy featuring Charli XCX which itself has been at that position for five weeks. At #2 is Problem by Ariana Grande, which features Alazea which has been there for three weeks. This week sees a new #3 though, with Nico & Vinz’s Am I Wrong pushing past Milky Chance’s Stolen Dance. There are two new entries into the top 10 this week, the first being Coldplay’s A Sky Full Of Stars at #7 which is no doubt enjoying the success of their recent promo visit to Australia. The other entry is Ed Sheeran’s Sing which landed at #9 from last week’s #15.
The ARIA Streaming chart is also starved for movement this week, however it does see a new entry into the chart. Lana Del Rey’s Ultraviolence debuted this week at #26 following a successful album launch and debut.
