Digital Chart Wrap: Gabrielle Aplin debuts high, Paloma Faith takes #1
The Shazam 100 sees a new #1. Paloma Faith’s Only Love Can Hurt Like This has taken the top spot followed by G.R.L who remain at #2 from last week. Replacing Paloma Faith at her previous #3 spot is the latest single form Meghan Trainor, All About That Bass. The track jumped a ridiculous 66 positions from #69 and is set to hit #1 next week if things stay the way they are. At #8 is a new debut from Gabrielle Aplin. Please Don’t Say You Love Me is a single taken off of their latest album which is performing well on both digital and airplay charts (#3 debut on the ARIA Singles chart). The Shazam 100 also bears witness to a high re-entry; Klingande’s Jubel has re-entered the chart at #15 following a successful release to Australian commercial radio last week. On this week’s Spotify 20, Nico & Vinz retain their #1 spot for yet another week with Am I Wrong. At #2 is Iggy Azalea’s Fancy featuring Charli XCX which has pushed back to #2, forcing Sia’s Chandelier down to #3. Ariana Grande has increased her presence in the top ten with Break Free made in collaboration with Zedd. The track was pushed to #7 from last weeks #11. Grande now has two of her tracks now in the top ten, the other being Problem featuring Iggy Azalea which is currently sitting at #8. Outside the top ten, Charli XCX’s Boom Clap jumped from #18 to #11 and is set to break the top ten next week if the she keeps the momentum she’s received this week. At #18 is a new debut from Ella Henderson. Her track Ghost has also shared success on the ARIA Singles chart, currently sitting at #5. Am I Wrong by Nico & Vinz still holds the #1 spot on the ARIA Streaming chart as well. At #2 however, Sia’s Chandelier has pushed pass Iggy’s Fancy and forced it down to #3. The rest of the top ten remains much the same except for #10 which Ariana Grande’s Break Free has jumped from #17. A few new debuts can be seen this week from Ella Henderson and Maroon 5. Ella Henderson’s Ghost enters the chart at #19 after strong chart success everywhere else. Maroon 5’s Maps enters the chart at #31 and has had steady success across the board on the airplay charts.
