Destroy All Lines Creates Country Division, Appoints Danny Keenan to Lead

Destroy All Lines is doubling down on country music.

The independent promoter and touring specialist expands with the launch of a country music division, led by promoter Danny Keenan.

“Their vision and growth is really exciting and I’m loving every minute,” comments Keenan, a country music specialist who has had stints with Warner Music Group, Alberts, and a decade-long run with Foxtel, most recently as head of artist & music industry relations – music & arts channels.

Earlier in his career, Keenan served as editor of The Music Network.

“My ten years at CMC and involvement with CMC Rocks has given me a holistic view of the global country music environment and I can’t wait to deliver some of that talent to Australia,” he adds. “Plus, we’ve got a few other things in store.”

Country music is slapping right now.

Data published by Luminate for the first half of 2023 found that Australia is the world’s No. 3 market for country music, behind only the U.S. and Canada, respectively.

Also, Aussies clicked play on country music 1.1 billion times during that period, based on the top 500 songs in the genre.

Since then, country music has been on a rampage through global charts, led by the likes of Morgan Wallen and Luke Combs, and country-flavoured cuts by Shaboozey, Post Malone, Beyonce and others.

“We are absolutely thrilled that Danny has joined Destroy All Lines heading up our country division,” comments Destroy All Lines general manager Chris O’Brien.

“Danny’s background in country music is second to none and his knowledge and experience will help deliver incredible artists to Australia.”

Formed in 2003, Destroy All Lines has worked on treks for the likes of The Offspring, All Time Low, Interpol, Bring Me The Horizon, Simple Plan, Bloc Party, Ghost, Parkway Drive and many others.

Keenan joins the company on the heels of the artist announcement for Destroy All Lines’ Good Things Festival, which launched in 2018 and, by spreading across three annual east coast shows, can claim to be the biggest alternative and rock music festival in the land.

Also in 2018, Destroy All Lines promoted the very first New Japan Pro Wrestling events in Australia, featuring Kenny Omega, Kazuchika Okada, Cody Rhodes and The Young Bucks.

Last year, the company started Knotfest Australia and launched its comedy division.

It’s all adding up. Destroy All Lines sold upwards of 700,000 tickets across all events over the past 12 months, reads a statement.
