As the 2020 ARIA Awards edge ever-closer, organisers have today revealed that Australian musician and multi-award winner Delta Goodrem will serve as the host of the socially-distanced event.

Set to take place on Wednesday, November 25th at the Star Event Centre in Sydney, organisers revealed the names of the artists set to perform at next week’s event, with the likes of Lime Cordiale, Tame Impala, Sampa the Great, Amy Shark, and Sia all scheduled to make an appearance in one way or another.

Now, it’s been announced that Goodrem is set to fill the hosting role at this year’s ceremony, just over 17 years since she took home a massive seven awards from 13 nominations at the 2003 event.

“I am beyond honoured to be hosting the 2020 ARIA Awards bringing to people’s homes the music that has meant so much to them this year,” Goodrem explained in a statement.

“The Australian music industry has had a year unlike any other we have ever faced before, and I am so looking forward to celebrating with you all – albeit remotely, as we come together to recognise and celebrate how talented this industry is to a global audience.”

“We are very excited to have Delta Goodrem as our host for the 2020 ARIA Awards,” added ARIA Chief Executive Dan Rosen. “She is no stranger to the ARIA stage, having taken home 12 ARIAs and delivered us a number of magic moments over her stellar career.

“This year she has dealt with the challenges of 2020 by remaining creative whilst raising funds and awareness for people in need. I can’t wait for Delta to lead our reflection – and celebration – of a one-of-a-kind year.”

In addition to Goodrem’s role as host of the 2020 ARIA Awards, organisers have also unveiled the list of names who will serve as presenters, which includes Guy Sebastian and Tones And I, with the former hosting the 2019 ceremony, and the latter taking home four awards at last year’s event.

The list of presenters also includes the likes of Tim Minchin, Briggs, Christine Anu, Keith Urban, Sophie Monk, INXS, Hamish Blake, Brooke Boney, Joel Creasey, and YouTube Music’s Director of Urban Music Tuma Basa, who will appear with A$AP Ferg.

More presenters are set to be announced in the coming days, with the 2020 ARIA Awards scheduled to take place at the Star Event Centre in Sydney on Wednesday, November 25th.
