Dean Lewis extends global publishing deal with Kobalt

After garnering billions of streams and winning two ARIA Awards this month, Aussie breakout star Dean Lewis has extended his publishing deal with Kobalt.

The new agreement, which covers the world, means Kobalt will provide publishing, creative and synch services for Lewis’ back catalogue and future works.

Like his label Island Records Australia, Lewis has worked with Kobalt since the beginning.

“Having worked with Dean from the start, it is with great pride that we build on our early partnership and look to the future and continued global success,” says Kobalt Australia’s managing director, Simon Moor.

“Dean’s talent and hard work have always been inspiring and I would like to thank Dean along with his Manager, Jim Sabey for their continued trust and faith in Kobalt Music.”

Lewis was a big winner at the 2019 ARIA Awards, taking home the prestigious awards for Album of the Year and Best Male Artist for his debut album A Place We Knew.

The album delivered a string of hits, both locally and overseas including ‘Be Alright’, ‘Stay Awake’, ‘7 Minutes’ and his breakthrough hit ‘Waves’.

“Kobalt has been such a massive supporter of mine since the very start! said Lewis.

“From the early syncs on ‘Waves’, the team has been so instrumental in helping get my music out to the world.”

I’m so excited to be able to continue working with Laurent and Simon for the next album and the future!”

The Sydney-born singer and songwriter also joined a new and illustrious club for streaming billionaires this year, after being inducted into APRA AMCOS’ The 1,000,000,000 List.

He shifted booking agencies last month too, making the switch from CAA to WME.
