David Guetta signs publishing to Kobalt Music
Kobalt Music’s latest publishing signing is French DJ/producer/songwriter superstar David Guetta, it announced overnight.
The worldwide deal includes his entire 15-year catalogue for administration, synch and creative support services.
Emerging from the Paris clubs and making his name on Ibiza, Guetta has sold 30 million singles, nine million albums and ten billion plays on Spotify and YouTube.
A few years ago the double-Grammy winner became the first DJ to exceed two billion streams on Spotify and has 36.8 million monthly listeners on its channel, making him the 14th biggest artist in the world.
He is currently working on his seventh album.
Guetta has just released Don’t Leave Me Alone, a single featuring Anne-Marie, the UK’s biggest selling debut artist of the year and who is currently touring with Ed Sheeran.
He has collaborated with Sean Paul, Becky G, Afrojack, Sia, Martin Garrix, Brooks, French Montana and Charli XCX in the last ten months alone.
“David’s track record speaks for itself,” commented Willard Ahdritz, Kobalt’s founder and CEO in a statement.
“He’s a rare breed — a global superstar who’s worked with the world’s biggest artists and created hit after hit.
“David and his business manager, Jean-Charles, have built an amazing collection of great music over the past 15 years and it will continue to live on for years to come. It’s an honour to represent his music as part of the Kobalt family.”
“We’ve built and cherished this catalogue over more than 15 years,” said Jean-Charles Carré, Guetta’s business manager and partner, “and I’m delighted to transmit it on to the expert hands of Kobalt.”
Kobalt’s publishing clients include Childish Gambino, Courtney Barnett, Beck, Tash Sultana, Zayn, Marshmello and Ozuna.
