Dan Medland joins Nettwerk Music Group as Australian & NZ lead
Artist manager Dan Medland will work with Nettwerk Music Group to expand its business across Australia and New Zealand. He will be charged with driving strategies across the two markets for both domestic and global artists.
In addition, he will contribute to Nettwerk’s A&R team and signing efforts.
Medland first worked alongside Nettwerk as the artist manager for Passenger (AKA Mike Rosenberg). He will continue in this role, as well as continuing to work alongside the digital and label services agency Come With Fries.
Over the years, Nettwerk Records has worked with the likes of Xavier Rudd, Angus & Julia Stone, John Butler Trio, Boy & Bear, Jack River and Jaguar Jonze.
Nettwerk president and COO, Simon Mortimer-Lamb, said Medland’s many successes and unique experiences within Australia and New Zealand make him a great addition to the team.
“We are pleased to welcome Dan Medland into the Nettwerk family. Over the years, Dan has consistently demonstrated that he cares deeply about artists. Dan can present a vision for success that aligns with how Nettwerk strives to empower artists to achieve their creative goals. Dan’s rich background in managing artists globally amidst a diverse and ever-changing industry will be instrumental in continuing Nettwerk’s growth in Australia and New Zealand,” he said.
Medland said he’s extremely honoured to be given such a wonderful opportunity.
“Nettwerk has been a decade-long partner on a global basis for myself and a number of clients, and has incredible energy, diversity and data-driven analysis like very few others in their field. I feel this is a company set up and ready to work hand-in-hand with incredible talent to deliver successful long-term partnerships in a very exciting time for our industry.”
The group was founded in 1984 in Canada on the premise of ‘We release music that we love’. It has now expanded to have label, management, publishing and sync rosters.
