Crowded House have announced a partnership with sustainable clothing company Outerknown for their latest merchandise release.

Outerknown was co-founded by professional surfer Kelly Slater, who also appeared in Crowded House’s latest music video ‘Love Isn’t Hard At All’.

The collaboration sees the release of two different pieces of merch from the band, with one centring on a lyric from previous single ‘Playing With Fire’ and another incorporating the title of ‘Love Isn’t Hard At All’.

In a statement via Outerknown’s official website, Slater explained the reasoning for wanting to start the company.

“When I finished my former sponsorship to start Outerknown, I challenged my partners to create a pioneering new company that made great clothes with a radical commitment to sustainability,” he said.

“Five years later, Outerknown is proving that you don’t have to compromise on sustainability or style.”

Crowded House’s latest album Dreamers Are Waiting marked the band’s first full-length release in over a decade. The album, released through EMI Music Australia, won the band an ARIA for Best Adult Contemporary Album last month.

Earlier this month, the band’s self-titled album, released in 1987, came in at #7 on Rolling Stone‘s list of the 200 greatest Australian albums of all time.
