CrewCare announce special performances at Roady4Roadies events
CrewCare has announced the special guest performers who will be taking to the stage at Roady4Roadies events across the country this month.
Staged in order to celebrate the unsung heroes of the music industry, Roady4Roadies aims to reconnect crew members and the musicians who work with them with their colleagues, friends and family.
Given the worthy cause behind the events, it’s no wonder some of Australia’s biggest names in music have agreed to perform.
Roady4Roadies will be held in ten major cities across the country on Sunday, April 11th with guest performers including Roady4Roadies Ambassador Missy Higgins and Mark Seymour in Melbourne, Ben Ransom, John Kennedy’s 68 Comeback Special and Mark Callaghan + Buzz Bidstrup (GANGgajang) in Sydney and Spy V Spy in Newcastle.
On top of that, Monique Brumby and Brian Ritchie Trio will perform in Hobart, Eric Weideman (1927) in Perth, Pigsy and Uncle Gilbert in Adelaide, Bec Lavelle and Hussy Hicks in Brisbane, Lillye with Virginia Lillye and Welter on the NSW Central Coast and Serina Pech, Caiti Baker and DJ Kuya James in Darwin.
Meanwhile, The Godfathers of Funk will appear at the Townsville event on Friday, April 23rd.
As if the roster of performers wasn’t exciting enough, Chugg Entertainment, Live Nation Asia-Pacific, TEG Dainty and Frontier Touring have also all teamed up to donate tickets to the event for any crew member and their family who have found themselves unable to purchase a ticket.
Live Nation Asia-Pacific President, Roger Field, said: “We couldn’t do what we do, and artists and fans wouldn’t have great experiences together, without the invaluable team behind the scenes who just get the job done. In the toughest time for our industry, Roady4Roadies is playing a critical role in connecting with and checking-in on crew.”
Michael Chugg from Chugg Entertainment agreed, saying: “In these hard times it’s important we support the 1000’s of crew that make it happen for us while they are going through very, very hard times. Roady4Roadies is an amazing event, make sure you get there.
Ambassador and performer Missy Higgins revealed she is in “endless awe” of the work that music crew do.
“Us artists literally could not do what we do without a highly skilled team of men and women behind the scenes making it all happen,” she said.
“But it’s a really tough job, working crazy long hours and away from home months at a time. It takes its toll on mental and physical health. Then throw into the mix the past year with restrictions on live events, it’s just been devastating for so many music workers and their families who suddenly found themselves unable to make ends meet.”
“We need events like Roady4Roadies more than ever right now, so we can show our support and raise some much-needed funds for these amazing men and woman who’ve always been the backbone of what we do.”
Roady4Roadies will begin with a leisurely 3-4kms walk, followed by a variety of activities and performances suitable for all ages.
Tickets for all Roady4Roadies events are $30 plus booking fee (includes t-shirt and face mask) and are on sale now from Moshtix.
Any crew member who would like to attend can also register their interest at the Roady4Roadies website.
For those who can’t attend the event but would like to support crew in crisis, virtual tickets will also be available for purchase.
