Chart wrap: Summer sits on top, Sheppard on the rise
TMN Hot 100 Summer by Calvin Harris sits happily at the top of the TMN Hot 100 for a second week after a total five weeks in the chart. Sheppard have climbed six places in this week’s charts, with Geronimo now sitting at #3 and looking increasingly more likely to hit the #2, or even top position. A lot of movement comes this week from Ed Sheeran’s Sing, which jumps from #54 to #7, while Live It Up by 360 ft. Pez has moved from #91 to #50 and Samantha Jade’s Up! is seen climbing from #64 from #32. ARIA Singles This week in the ARIA Singles chart Sheppard still hold the top spot for a second week in a row. The Single Geronimo continues to sell well, claiming Gold certification as of last week. Sia’s single Chandelier has jumped again from #4 to #2 also receiving Gold certification. It has her second-highest appearance in the ARIA Singles chart. It seems like no-one can hold back the Trojan that is Happy. Pharrell’s unstoppable single is enjoying its 19th week in the Top 10 and its 17th week in the Top 3. Peking Duk look determined hold onto their #5 spot with High while Calvin Harris reaches a new high at #4 with his single Summer. Three tracks have dropped out of the Top 10: David Guetta & Skylar Grey’s Shot Me Down dropped to #12, The Power Of Love by Gabrielle Aplin dropped five places to #13 and last but not least, the infamous #Selfie has dropped all the way to #21. ARIA Albums It has been an amazing week for Australian artists on the ARIA albums chart Top 10. Chet Faker’s debut album Built On Glass has debuted on the chart at #1. Faker’s album also happens to be the 700th #1 album in Australia. This release also marks the second #1 album for Future Classic, the first being Flume’s self-titled album. INXS finally drop from the #1 position that they have held for seven unbroken weeks and now sit at #2 with The Very Best collection. The Voice winner Harrison Craig is at #5 with his second album, titled L.O.V.E. Dan Sultan has dropped two positions this week and now sits at #6 with Blackbird. Pharrell & Katy have had both their albums decline in position this week as well with G I R L dropping to #7 and Prism dropping to #8. John Butler Trio and their album Flesh & Blood is the final Australian act to sit in the ARIA Albums Top 10. The album is up one place from last week and is now holding the #9 position. Some notable movement this week comes from Lorde’s Pure Heroine. It’s back at #11 this week which is probably comes off the back of media surrounding her now-cancelled tour. Circus In The Sky by Bliss N’ Eso is now back at #13. The album has hit Platinum certification which is no doubt being helped by the current tour that the Australian Hip Hop act just started. Jessica Mauboy is now back at #17 after jumping 25 places. Cliff Richard’s The Fabulous Rock N’ Roll Song Book has jumped from #94 to #27. Johnny Cash’s Out Among The Stars has dropped to #12, Puddinghead by Ball Park Music has fallen to 14. Nevermind’s re-entry into the chart has fallen by a grand total 19 places and Kylie’s album Kiss Me Once drops 12 places to #41.
