Chart Wrap: Northlane take their first ever #1
Western Sydney metalcore exports Northlane markedtheir very first #1 on the ARIA Albums chart on Saturday. It overtakes their previous peak at #3 with 2013’s Singularity and marks an incredibly strong first album with new vocalist Marcus Bridge. It makes for the sixth Australian album to take #1 on the ARIA Charts. Not too long ago fellow Western Sydney success stories – and fellow Unified signing–Thy Art Is Murder also saw their highest debut on the ARIA charts with Holy War peaking at #7.
Hot 100
The Weeknd remains at #1 this week with Can’t Feel My Face for what is now its fourth week at the top. Lost Frequencies continues his trend of nonstop movement up the chart, landing at #2 from #5 while Calvin Harris and Aston Merry Gold make their Top 10 debutswith How Deep Is Your Love featuring The Disciples at #7 and Get Stupid at #9 from #16, respectively.
Outside the Top 10, 5 Seconds Of Summer make their move into the Top 25 with She’s Kinda Hot landing at #24 from its debut point of #40. Natalie La Rose’s Somebody sees a resurgence in airplay pushing it to #49 from #65 while Fetty Wap’s Trap Queen takes out most moved with a jump to #43 from #73.
Three new debuts take place in the Top 50 with Vance Joy’s Fire And The Flood at #40, Madcon’s Don’t Worry featuring Ray Dalton at #45 and Delta Goodrem’s Wings at #46.
ARIA Singles
Lost Frequencies holds #1 on the ARIA Singles chart for a second week in a row while The Weeknd’s Can’t Feel My Face holds fast at #2. Galantis find a new peak at #3 from #4 with Peanut Butter Jelly and Pia Mia makes a move to #5with Do It Again featuring Chris Brown & Tyga. Debuting at #8 is Delta Goodrem’s Wings which makes for her fifteenth Top 10 single on the ARIA Charts. Fifth Harmony finds a new peak at #9 from #11. Vance Joy enjoys a strong debut at #21 with Fire And The Flood which is taken from the forthcoming deluxe version of his #1 charting album Dream Your Life Away.
ARIA Albums
Northlane take the #1 debut on the Albums chart this week with Node while Lamb Of God enter at #2 with VII – Sturm Und Drang. It marks a new peak for Lamb Of God on the ARIA Albums chart, their previous being #3 with their last album Resolution in 2012.Alan Jackson also finds a high debut at #4 with Angels And Alcohol while the next two debuts come at #11 and #13 with Holy Holy’s When The Storms Would Come and Southpaw (Music From And Inspired By The Motion Picture) respectively.
