While most of the industry were enjoying their Christmas and New Year’s break, commercial radio was most assuredly still at work, the volatility of the first chart back in 2015 demonstrates this well. At #1 after just three weeks in the chart is Hozier’s Take Me To Church, which makes the jump to the top spot from #19.This jump pushes Taylor Swift’s Blank Space back down to #2.Mark Ronson holds #3 for his fourth week in a row now with Uptown Funk featuring Bruno Mars. Making the jump from #39 to #6 is James Bay’s Hold Back The River which is now in itssecond week in the Hot 100. Also making noteworthy bounds up the chart into the Top 10 is Fade Out Line by The Avener, which is up at #8 from #26.
Other significant movement this week comes from 5 Seconds Of Summer’s cover ofWhat I Like About You,which is up at #28 from #43, Carmada’s Maybe at #53 from #70 and Calvin Harris’ Pray To God featuring HAIM, which jumps from #63 to #17, a total of 46 positions and is this week’s most moved track. The top debut pushes Taylor Swift’s quadruple Platinum-selling album 1989 down to #2 and Sheeran’s equal-selling X to #3. Chet Faker’s Built On Glass returns to the Top 10 at #10 from #14, no doubt as a result of a recent wave of commercial airplay last week.
