Chart Wrap: Hilary Duff takes highest debut

Taylor Swift holds #1 for her fourth week in a rowwith Bad Blood featuring Kendrick Lamar, while Ed Sheeran sees yet another single from his ARIA #1 album X hit the Top 2 of the TMN Hot 100, this one being Photograph. The Weeknd’s Can’t Feel My Face breaks through to the Top 10 at #8 from #24, a new peak for the track and it’s likely to enter the Top 5 in the coming weeks.

Outside the Top 10, Meghan Trainor’s Like I’m Gonna Lose You featuring John Legend climbs to #11 from #25. Fifth Harmony & Kid Ink’s Worth It sees a jump to #3 from #58 and Nicki Minaj’s The Night Is Still Young sees a jump to #41 from #90, proof that the re-service to commercial radio wasa success. This week’s most moved comes from Travie McCoy’s Golden featuring Sia,which hits #19 from #68, a total jump of 49 positions.

Two debuts make their way into the Top 50 this week. The first comes from Galantis’ Peanut Butter Jelly at #31, while the other enters at #48:Erik Hassle’s No Words.

ARIA Singles

The ARIA Singles chart sees a new #1 this week with Meghan Trainor’s Like I’m Gonna Lose You featuring John Legend taking the top position. It makes for her fourth #1 single on the ARIA chart, all of which from her debut album Title. The move pushes Conrad Sewell’sStart Again to #2. Little Mix sees a Top 10 breakthrough for their recent single Black Magic, which enters the bracket at #8.The Weeknd’s Can’t Feel My Face narrowly misses out on the top 10 at #13, tying with previous charting single Earned It, which also peaked there. It’s likely that this will be The Weeknd’s most successful single to date. Only one noteworthy debut takes place in the Top 50 this week with Travie McCoys Golden featuring Sia entering at #36. It makes for his second top 50 appearance in the singles chart.

ARIA Albums

A familiar face returns to #1 on the Albums chart this week with Ed Sheeran’s X moving back to the top yet again. It marks for his eighth week at #1, this being the second week in 2015 he’s held it. Hilary Duff takes out the highest debut this week with her fifth studio album Breathe In, Breathe Out debuting at #4. The follow up to 2007’s Dignity becomes her third Top 10 ARIA charting album. The next highest new entry comes at #8 with Leon Bridges’ Coming Home, his first ever ARIA charting album. Just missing out on the Top 10 is Breaking Benjamin’s Dark Before Dawn which enters at #11, followed by James Taylor’s Before This World which debuts at #12.
