Chart Wrap: Daniel Johns misses out on #1

Hot 100

Wiz Khalifa sits at the top of the TMN Hot 100 for his sixth week with See You Again featuring Charlie Puth. Though it’s highly likely that after next week that won’t be the case with Taylor Swift’s Bad Blood very likely to take the spot, landing at #2 this week up from #35. James Bay’s Let It Go breaks into the Top 10 this week just landing at #10 up from #11, a new high point for the track,making it the second single of his to hit the Top 10.

Outside the Top 10, Kygo’s Firestone featuring Conrad just misses out on breaking the top bracket, though it does take a new high point at #11 up from #15. Jessie J’s Flashlight also sees a new peak, at #12 from #17. Adam Lambert’s Ghost Town sees some healthy movement this week, landing at #28 up from #50. The same can be said for Britney Spears’ Pretty Girls, taking #29 up from #39. Maroon 5’s latest single This Summer Is Gonna Hurt makes a jump to #45 from #73. Just below them at #46 is A$AP Rocky’s Everyday featuring Rod Stewart, Miguel & Mark Ronson which makes the move from #88 and is this week’s most moved track.

Quite a few debuts make themselves known in the Top 50 this week with Guy Sebastian’s Tonight Again seeing an entry at #30, Major Lazer & Ellie Goulding’s Powerful debuting at #36, Jason Derulo’s Cheyenne at #39 and Little Mix’s Black Magic making an entry at #44.

ARIA Singles

The ARIA Singles chart sees Taylor Swift’s Bad Blood featuring Kendrick Lamar skip to #1 up from its debut point of #3 last week. It becomes Swift’s fourth #1 Single on the ARIA Charts, her third form her recent #1 album 1989. This move pushed last week’s #1, Grace’s You Don’t Own Me featuring G-Eazy, to #3. Jessie J’s Flashlight takes a new peak at #5 from #7, as does Deorro & Chris Brown’s Five More Hours at #7, moving from #13. At #12 is a new debut from Guy Sebastian with Tonight Again, his track used in Australia’s wildcard entry into Eurovision. The winner of Eurovision sees a chart debut as well with Mans Zelmerlow’s Heroes seeing a #19 debut. Two other noteworthy debuts take place in the Top 50 with Adam Lambert’s Ghost Town entering at #32 and Anja Nissen’s Anyone Who Had A Heart at #40.

ARIA Albums

Hillsong United see Empires, their fourth studio album, debut at #1 on the ARIA Albums chart this week. It becomes their second #1, the first being 2013’s Zion and it also marks the third Australian #1 charting album of 2015. Former Silverchair frontman Daniel Johns sees his debut solo album Talk debut at #2 while the soundtrack to the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 Viennaenters at #4. One last debut makes its way into the Top 5 with A$AP Rocky’s A.L.L.A (At Long Last A$AP) debuting at #5. The rapper’s second studio album sets a new high point for the artist, beating his previous album Long Live A$AP, which peaked at #7 in January of 2013. Two debuts narrowly make the Top 20 this week with Mariah Carey’s #1 To Infinity entering at #18 and the soundtrack to Love Child Season 2 entering at #19.
