Channel [V] announces three new presenters
The Used frontman Bert McCracken, Melbourne-born model Bambi Northwood-Blyth and DJ Generik (Tyson O’Brien) are Channel [V]’s new presenters.
The trio joins presenters Danny Clayton, Carissa Walford and Marty Smiley and marks a new direction for the Foxtel youth channel with expanded programming to reflect its core audience. Alongside new ‘music lifestyle’ content and all-access interviews, news and festival coverage both on-air and online, Channel [V] will now offer live shows.
Bert McCracken, a respected figure in the alt-rock/post-hardcore community was tapped by Channel [V] in February last year as the on-site backstage presenter at Soundwave festival.
Rebecca Batties, Foxtel General Manager for Music and Head of Digital said in a statement: “At Channel [V] we are still very much about the music, however with this new direction we are tuning in to the needs of our youth audience and expanding programming to reflect and embrace their lives.
“The new Channel [V] takes our audience into a world of limitless options as we throw ourselves into the big passions that make youth tick, inspiring them to live a life to remember.”
TMN will publish an interview with Batties on the channel's new direction tomorrow.
