Casey Donovan signs new management deal with Entertainment Consulting’s Karen-Lee Herrmann-Smith
Casey Donovan has signed a new, full management deal with Entertainment Consulting’s Karen-Lee Herrmann-Smith, after having worked on-and-0ff with her for over a decade.
The move comes almost two decades into Donovan’s career, following her breakout on Australian Idol back in 2004. Donovan spent the past five years managed by Renee Hansen of Hansen Management, who told The Music Network that she actually suggested Donovan meet with Herrmann-Smith.
“I recently had my second child and so took a step back from personal management to best manage life through COVID, a business, a baby and a child at home,” Hansen told TMN.
“I suggested Casey take a meeting with KL for her music management.”
Herrmann-Smith (nee Goody), otherwise known as KL, said that she worked with Donovan throughout the years with tours and collaborative recordings, but now she’s excited to be “a part of developing the years ahead for her on all fronts”.
“[I] have always been a huge fan of not only her talent, but her as a person and its fantastic to see her growth as an artist across all areas of her ability and it has really come to fruition these past years,” Herrmann-Smith said in a statement.
“I’m honoured to be Casey’s manager.”
Donovan said “you will always end up exactly where you are meant to be”.
“I’ve known KL for many many years and I am very excited to have her representing me as my manager in this forever-changing industry. Her love and passion for music and the arts is something to be admired. KL is a wealth of knowledge and a woman of many strengths.”
Donovan joins Entertainment Consulting’s growing management roster, which also includes Amber Lawrence, Christie Lamb, Monique Montez and recent signees O’Shea and Hinterland.
In the past, the agency has overseen tours for Dami Im, Anthony Callea, Mitch Tambo, Samantha Jade, The McClymonts and more.
