Channel 9 reveals line-up for this year’s Carols By Candlelight
The countdown to Christmas continues, with Channel 9 already promoting its December 24 event Vision Australia’s Carols By Candlelight presented by AAMI.
The event will once again be hosted by Channel 9 stars Ally Langdon and David Campbell from Melbourne’s Sidney Myer Music Bowl.
Channel 9 said a number of Carols family stalwarts will also appear once more, including David Hobson, Marina Prior, Silvie Paladino, Anthony Callea, Tim Campbell and Denis Walter. The broadcaster said more exciting performers will be announced ahead of the event.
This year’s event will be allowed to proceed with a full-capacity crowd, with profits from ticket sales going to Vision Australia to help families whose children are blind or have low vision.
Langdon said she can’t wait to be back hosting the event this year.
“I love Christmas. It’s such a special time of the year, especially when you have small kids. I couldn’t be happier to be part of Australia’s much-loved Christmas Eve tradition and to help raise money for children and their families who are blind or have low vision,” she said.
Campbell added: “Christmas is such a lovely rime of the year, and we go all out in our house. I’m honoured to once again be part of such a Christmas Eve tradition, and to be able to bring some Christmas joy to families all over Australia. It’s always a wonderful night for a great cause, raising much-needed funds for Vision Australia, and after such a tough year for millions of Australians, I’m so glad that crowds are back to help lift our Christmas spirits.”
The 84th Vision Australia Carols By Candlelight will screen on Channel 9 and 9Now at 8:00pm (AEDT) on Friday, December 24.
