Caravana Sun signs with Berlin’s Embassy of Music: Exclusive
It’s a bright new day for Caravana Sun, who’ve signed an international recording deal with Berlin’s Embassy of Music, TIO can exclusively reveal.
At Embassy of Music, Caravana Sun joins a stacked roster that includes Moby, Robyn and fellow Aussie acts Ball Park Music and Husky.
The new deal covers the world, excluding Australia and New Zealand, where they’re released independently.
Comprised of Luke Carra (guitar/ vocals), Ant Beard (bass/vocals), James Smithers (drums) and Chris Smithson (keys/vocals), the Sydney four-piece have a sound like it walked off the beach, and straight into a party.
The band has two full-length albums to their name, Aya (from 2013) and Guerrilla Club (2016), and a string of singles, including 2019’s ‘Legend’.
They made waves with 2018’s ‘Come Back’ and ‘Beauty and The Pain,’ a catchy number produced by Steven Schram (The Cat Empire, San Cisco, Paul Kelly).
At the time, Triple J Unearthed music director Dave Ruby Howe raved about the group, forecasting “bigger things ahead.”
Commenting on the new arrangement, Ant Beard says the band is “overwhelmingly excited to see what the future holds.”
Caravana Sun “has always been about creating and celebrating a family of friends around our band,” he adds. “After meeting all the crew at Embassy Of Music, we knew straight away that something special was brewing. Signing with such a prolific international frontrunner in the music industry; we’re overwhelmingly excited to see what the future holds.”
