You can now build Spotify playlists on Facebook

Ever been talking to your friends in a Facebook group chat, only to wish that you had the ability to curate a playlist to soundtrack the conversation? Well, good news, because your dreams are no longer just dreams thanks to Facebook Messenger and Spotify.

Spotify have recently announced their newest feature, Group Playlists for Messenger, which integrates with Facebook’s messenger app to help users curate and listen to group playlists. As Spotify puts it, the new feature is “ideal for parties, road trips, or simply collecting new favourites, Group Playlists provide a seamless way for users to collaborate and share music more easily than ever before.”

The feature is rather simplistic in its design, with a three-step process to be used to create these playlists. Users only have to press the ‘+’ button open up the Spotify app, create and name a playlist, and with that, users within the group are able to listen to, share, and contribute to the group playlist. Just check out the helpful graphic Spotify have created below.

Undoubtedly, this is going to be an immensely popular addition to both Facebook Messenger and Spotify, with music lovers and Facebook addicts sure to flock to these combined services. Frankly, we’re excited to see how amazing some of these communal playlists are set to become.
