BTS to perform for MTV Unplugged
K-pop group BTS will perform a special edition of MTV’s Unplugged performance series.
Filmed from Seoul, the performance will be simulcast globally from 1pm AEDT on Wednesday, February 24.
BTS released three studio albums last year, Map of the Soul: 7, Map of the Soul:7 – The Journey and BE. Their 2020 disco-influenced single ‘Dynamite’ reached the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 and is a certified platinum track in Australia.
“BTS will bring its own iteration of the iconic Unplugged format to life straight from Seoul, South Korea – offering their fans a front-row seat to never-before-seen versions of the group’s most career-defining hits and songs from their latest [deluxe] album BE (Essential Edition), in intimate settings,” a statement from MTV read.
The MTV Unplugged performance follows a similar broadcasted performance from BTS last year, the pay-per-view BANG BANG CON The Live concert. Livestreamed in July, the concert ended up raking in roughly $26.1 million from more than 750,000 viewers across 107 regions.
