Two BTS albums have made Billboard chart history at the same time
BTS are continuing to rule the world and of course, the Billboard charts. And as of today, they’ve broken yet another record.
As of this week, two seperate BTS albums have cracked the 100 weeks mark on Billboard’s Top Album Sales chart. This is a huge deal as this is the first time that a South Korean artist (or band) has remained on the chart reaching triple digits. Not to mention with two albums at the same time.
And now that BTS have achieved this mean feat – they’ve set the bar pretty high for the next South Korean contenders to do the same. As per Forbes, while there may be a few who have come close, no other South Korean artist or band have had a title on the Top Album Sales chart for 50 weeks a la BTS.
Now to get to the albums. First up, their record Love Yourself: Tear came in at the No.1 31 spot on the Top Album Sales chart. The other record killing it on the charts, assisting the band in achieving their latest accolade is Love Yourself: Answer. This week it ranked in at No. 34, with both albums ranking within the Top 40.
In other recent BTS chart-topping news, the group also recently celebrated earning 28 No. 1’s on the Billboard World Digital Song Sales Chart 28 times. The single to get them over the line was ‘Singularity’ which allowed them to break their own record as the artists with the most No. 1’s on the chart.
This achievement made the news only days after they became the first group in history to occupy all the top four positions on the Billboard World Albums chart at the same time.
