Boo Seeka announces departure of instrumentalist Michael May
Boo Seeka’s Ben Gumbleton has revealed that he will move forward as a solo act after parting ways with instrumentalist Michael May.
Gumbleton said that he and May had parted ways due to “fundamental differences” in a post to social media last week, bringing May’s three-year tenure as producer and instrumentalist for the Newcastle electro-soul act to a close.
“I wanted to let you know that after joining the band for the last 3 years, Michael and I have parted ways due to fundamental differences,” Gumbleton wrote in a comment-restricted Instagram post.
“I’m working really hard to bring you this next collection of music this year, which means so much to me.
“I look forward to seeing you on the road very soon with some special guests.”
Currently, no further details surrounding the circumstances of May’s departure have been shared with the public.
May initially joined Boo Seeka in 2018 after founding member Sam Croft departed the band, with last year’s single ‘Take a Look’ marking his first release with the group.
Boo Seeka is scheduled to appear at a number of festivals in the coming months, and is expected to share new material soon.
The band’s management has been contacted by The Music Network for more information regarding May’s departure.
