BMG deal bringing new series of Daryl Hall’s ‘Live From Daryl’s House’ series to Australia

BMG has gained worldwide rights to Daryl Hall’s music TV series Live From Daryl’s House music series – with Australia one of the territories to be targeted.

The show, shot at the singer’s home in New York, covers candid interviews, cooking segments and music jams with guests as Smokey Robinson, Nick Lowe, Ben Folds, Aaron Neville, Kenny Loggins, K.T. Tunstall, Todd Rundgren, Dave Stewart, Toots and the Maytals, Joe Walsh and Sammy Hagar.

It also provided exposure to up and coming artists as Fitz & The Tantrums, Mayer Hawthorne, Jason Mraz, Gavin DeGraw, Amos Lee, Brett Dennen, Elle King and Aloe Blacc.

Live From Daryl’s House began as a web series in 2007 and aired on MTV Live until last year.

BMG is also becoming involved in the show as co-producers.

When the show resumes filming in the northern autumn, producers will be Hall and Jonathan Wolfson through their company Good Cop Bad Cop Productions and Joe Thomas and Bob Frank for BMG.

Domenic Cotter stays on as the show’s producer.

Hall said, “I’m really excited to announce that LFDH is coming back! We have a new production partner with BMG, who are enthusiastic about taking this show to the next level with me.

“Fans have been asking me when we are returning, so I am pleased to say that we are headed into production in the fall.”

The new BMG deal also covers the 82 episodes from 2007 to 2016.

“The show is an absolute television treasure full of musical landmarks.

“There is such a high-level of interest and demand for LFDH both here in the US and internationally – whether that’s with partners throughout Europe, Asia, Australia – we couldn’t be more excited to be working with the LFDH team to present the show to fans across the globe.”

BMG’s other audio-visual assets include the Soundstage shot-in-location TV series which is aired in Australia on Foxtel Arts, and concert series Berlin Live.

Its first venture into films, the Joan Jett documentary Bad Reputation, made its world premiere a 2018 Sundance Film Festival and screened in a number of film festivals in Australia.

BMG’s film slate includes documentaries on David Crosby (by Cameron Crowe), promoters and agents, Marc Bolan and reggae label Trojan Records.
