Birds of Tokyo single ‘Unbreakable’ picked up for ABC TV Invictus Games coverage
Birds of Tokyo’s new single Unbreakable has been confirmed as the theme song for ABC TV’s Invictus Games Sydney 2018 coverage.
The band will perform the song at the official closing ceremony on October 27 at Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney before the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, aka tabloids’ fave Harry and Meghan.
The appearance will give the Australian band international exposure.
The games, with competitors from 18 nations around the world who have served and been wounded in action in the armed forces, will be internationally televised.
Unbreakable is the first new piece of music from the multi-award winning band for over two years.
The summer anthem sets up a new round of touring:
Saturday, September 22: Sugar City Sounds, Mackay
Friday, September 28: Caloundra Music Festival, Sunshine Coast
Saturday, October 6: Red Earth Rock Fest, Karratha WA
Saturday, October 13: Get Your Groove On Festival, Sydney
More new tracks will be dropped over coming months as the band builds toward a new album which will expand on many of the lyrical threads they are unveiling for the first time with Unbreakable.
