BIGSOUND unveils full program with last-minute artist additions
BIGSOUND is just around the corner, which means sun, getting business done and music, lots of music. Today, organizers revealed the full, final BIGSOUND programme, covering the line-up of speakers, new artist additions, parties, tech showcases and much more.
The annual conference and showcase event takes place across four days and nights from Sept. 4 in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley, held this year with the objective of building a “unified music industry community.”
On the live front, G Flip and I Know Leopard join the bill alongside triple j Unearthed winners Keelan Mak and Austen, and about 150 acts already announced, from TIO Awards performers Adrian Eagle and CXLOE, to Didirri, Kwame, Moaning Lisa, Ella Hooper, Alice Skye and many others.
This year’ 17th edition will feature more than 70 new buyers and speakers, organisers say, including Aussie legends UNIFIED’s Rachel Comerford, Future Classic’s Nathan McLay, Chugg Entertainment’s Michael Chugg, and Bossy Music’s Claire Collins.
Your ticket to the daytime action will also get you access to the BIGSOUND Tech showcase, the new BIGSOUND Gallery boutique trade show and its visual arts program. This time around, a slate of workshops will dive into managing mental health, U.S. touring and visa procurement, music metrics, and its keynotes presentations will feature the likes of The Annex’s Mardi Caught, Lagwagon’s Joey Cape, Paul Kelly, Fat Wreck Chords’ Erin Kelly-Burkett, and author/supermom Virginia Grohl.
As previously reported, Bigsound, the leading industry pow-wow on the Australian calendar, is making a bigger focus on tech, and moving forward with a tweaked format and a renewed push for inclusiveness.
