Bieber’s box office count is in, Aus & NZ tour grossed $8.2 million
Having been on the road for over a year, Justin Bieber has now grossed just under $200 million since launching the Purpose World Tour in Seattle on March 9, 2016.
Last month, the tour took in Australia and New Zealand over five sold-out stadium dates in Perth (nib Stadium), Melbourne (Etihad Stadium), Brisbane (Suncorp Stadium), Sydney (ANZ Stadium) and Auckland (Mt Smart Stadium).
Bieber performed to 221,206 fans and grossed US$6.2 million (AU$8.2m), topping Billboard’s global Hot Tours list (March 28-April 3) ahead of Eric Clapton, Elton John, Ariana Grande and the Dixie Chicks.
Bieber’s show at Sydney’s ANZ Stadium to a crowd of 83,500 logged the top box office count for Billboard‘s Hot Tours list, which is ranked by gross.
Bieber’s first 10 concerts this year grossed over US$40 million alone with 466,000 tickets sold. Overall, the Purpose World Tour has sold over 2.2 million tickets for 122 headlining performances worldwide.
Bieber is currently touring Latin America before he takes in Asia, Africa, Europe and North America. The final date of the tour is a true homecoming as he finishes in Toronto on September 6.
