Benefit concert announced for Melbourne underground musician Stewy Cunningham
A benefit is being announced for next month for Melbourne musician Stewy Cunningham.
He was diagnosed with lung cancer in early June and currently receiving treatment.
Cunningham emerged in the Melbourne underground, with bands such as The Proton Energy Pills, Brother Brick, The Yes Men, Asteroid B-612, Challenger 7 and, for the last 12 years, Leadfinger.
The concert’s name See You Tonight – named after one of his songs – is held at the Tote Hotel on Friday, September 14.
The lineup includes HOSS, The Draught Dodgers, Swedish Magazines, Powerline Sneakers, Wrong Turn, Matty Whittle & Melwayholics Anonymous plus a special appearance by James McCann and Adalita.
Record labels and music stores have come on board, donating CDs, vinyl and tees for a raffle on the night.
Those unable to attend can donate HERE.
All proceeds go to his partner and two daughters.
