Believe Australia reveals new hires, expands artist & label services [exclusive]

If you believe it, you can achieve it.

The Australian and New Zealand operations of Believe, the global independent artist and label services company, has just announced four new hires.

Joining Mick Tarbuk and Nathan Nott in the Melbourne office are Maya Janeska and Clare Chapman (pictured, above).

Janeska, from a marketing and label management background, will oversee growing the artist services and development division in both countries.

She previously worked on top five debuts and ARIA award-winning albums at UNFD and Remote Control Records.

As digital marketing manager, Chapman will be responsible for driving the audience development strategy across digital platforms for the company’s artists.

While holding digital marketing, brand strategy & content productions roles across a variety of industries, she collaborated with Universal Music Group, ABC and host of independent artists.

The Sydney office expands with the addition of Charlie Odell as trade marketing manager and Troy Barrott as senior distribution label manager (pictured, below).

Previously at Sony Music Entertainment Australia, Odell was most recently account representative – sales & digital, where he managed the Spotify, YouTube and Amazon accounts.

At Believe he will own the relationship with all DSPs across ANZ and work alongside the global trade marketing team.

Barrott was director of Australian artists at BMG before founding the Hub Music Group offering boutique music services.

He and Nott will be responsible for the growing list of distribution clients.

Believe’s ANZ business unit was launched three and a half years ago by Mick Tarbuk, who will continue to head up the Australia and New Zealand regions.

“I’m very excited to announce the talented additions to the team in Melbourne and Sydney,” he says.

“When the business unit launched in Australia, the goals and vision for the territory was to provide the best service for independent artists and labels.

“We look forward to offering artists a fresh global approach to owning their careers and labels the best expertise in the industry”

Believe was founded by Denis Ladegaillerie in Paris 14 years ago.

It currently has over 1000 employees in 44 offices around the world.

The Believe group includes Tunecore, Nuclear Blast, Groove Attack, Soulfood, Naïve & Tot au Tard.
