Jessica Mauboy and Baker Boy will lead the forthcoming episode of ABC’s music series The Sound.
Other acts set to appear on Sunday night’s episode, the third for the season, include Confidence Man, Thomas Headon and more.
Mauboy will be performing her just-released single ‘Glow’, the first track the popstar has released since she left Sony Music after 14 years to move to Warner.
Baker Boy will deliver the debut performance of Gela track ‘Headphones’, alongside Lara Andallo. This week’s guest host is Uncle Jack Charles, who also appeared on Gela.
The show’s customary Tribute segment will play homage to Empire Of The Sun, with Holy Holy, Hayley Mary and Tia Gostelow teaming up to perform one of the duo’s classics.
The Sound will air on Sunday, November 21 at 5:30pm on ABC and ABC iView.
The third season of The Sound premiered on November 7, with Spacey Jane, Vera Blue and more performing on the debut episode. Last week’s episode saw performances from Alex Lahey, Missy Higgins and Isabella Manfredi to name a few.
Artist programmer, Susan Heymann, told The Music Network about the struggles of getting Australian music on television, and how this season of The Sound wants to focus more on it.
“We’re just going to be focused on the performances and on the talent,” she said of this season.
“We haven’t got the news segment. We haven’t got the new music segment with that shorter duration. We just wanted to maximise the number of performances we could include in that 28-minute episode.”
