Badrapper Joins Warner Music Australia Roster (EXCLUSIVE)
Sydney producer and DJ Badrapper has signed with Warner Music Australia.
His first single under the new deal is “X Games” featuring Brisbane rapper Nerve and Babyface Mal. T, both who appear in the yet-to-be-released music video.
He said it was “stoked” to be releasing new music on the Badrapper side project.
“After spending most of COVID writing songs for rappers and getting placements away, it feels like the natural transition to bring some of that back into what I’m doing with electronic music, looking forward to sharing more of what is in store for this project.”
The act was filling up 1,000-capacity rooms, generating millions of streams, and landing on Spotify’s top-tier dance playlists.
But when COVID-19 hit and stopped the gigs, he moved to production.
He executive-helmed the third Chillinit album, which landed as the No.1 Australian Artist Album on the ARIA chart (No.5 overall) and earned him a Gold record on his first-ever Hip Hop placement.
He’s guest-hosting triple j’s Friday Mix and is about to play the five-city Festival X from Nov. 26 to Dec. 4 with Megan Thee Stallion, Don Toliver and Calvin Harris.
Dan Rosen, president of Warner Music Australasia said, “I’m incredibly proud to welcome Badrapper to the WMA roster.
“Australia has long been a global tastemaker in dance and electronic music, and we are excited for Badrapper to continue to fly that flag.
“He has a bright future as a producer and on festival stages around the world, and we look forward to helping make his vision a reality.”
Badrapper has been producing since the age of 16.
“I spent a lot of time getting my production right,” he says, “and now I feel like I have a cohesive story to tell – everything I’m currently doing is building towards a bigger vision I have.”
