Australian Music Week partners with Fender with giveaway
Tickets to annual music industry conference and live show, Australian Music Week, are now on sale.
Touted on the global stage as a must-attend event, the third annual AMW takes place from 1st – 3rd November 2017 at Cronulla Beach in Sydney.
Last year’s event featured local and international heavyweights, including Jed Hilly of the Americana Music Association, John Wardle of Live Music Office and Lisa Whytock of the Showcase Scotland Exop/Active Events.
“I attended Australia Music Week and it was fantastic,” said Hilly. “Geoff and his team have created an essential event to bring together fantastic talent to perform and expert music industry professionals to share their knowledge.
“It’s about creating a community of music-loving individuals to support artists of all genres and to learn from each other to navigate the ever changing music business landscape,” he added. “I can’t wait to attend again!”
AMW has also teamed with Fender to give away a Paramount STD PM1 Dreadnought acoustic guitar (RRP $1599). Everyone who buys any conference or show pass through Oztix is eligible to enter the competition. The entry form is located at www.australianmusicweek.

AMW’s conference partners are Folk Alliance Australia, The Americana Association of Australia and the three-day Indian Ocean Music Market – Reunion Island (IOMMA). This year AMW will host several delegates and one showcasing artist from Reunion Island, with the opportunity for an AMW artist to travel to IOMMA in 2018.
Folk Alliance Australia president Una McAlinden:
“Folk Alliance Australia are delighted to present our Annual Conference at part of the Australian Music Week this year. Our new partnership with AMW will bring the best together, offering a range of new opportunities, connections and possibilities to the industry.”
Adam Simon of The Americana Association also commented on their involvement:
“The Americana Music Association of Australia was fortunate enough to partner with Australian Music Week in 2016 to help launch our Association, which was a fantastic experience. So when we were looking for a home for our inaugural conference in 2017, the opportunity to work with the AMW team again was an ideal synergy and one which will allow us to once again shine the light on so many of the outstanding Americana, alt country and roots music artists that Australia has produced.”
