Australian Music Week announces an evening with Simon Napier-Bell, and electronic music program
Australian Music Week has just raised the excitement levels of countless music fans, with the announcement of the program’s electronic music program, as well as an evening with British music mogul Simon Napier-Bell.
Australian Music Week, although relatively new to the scene, manages to bring together industry professionals, artists, and music lovers to help network, learn, and celebrate Aussie music. Taking place in Sydney’s Cronulla Beach from November 1st to the 3rd, it’s a globally recognised event that helps to put the Aussie music scene on the map. Having recently announced the AMW 301 Music Prize competition, they’ve now made the event even more exciting thanks to their most recent lineup reveals.
One of the most exciting things that Australian Music Week are most excited to announce is ‘An Evening With Simon Napier-Bell’. The event, which sees the highly influential media mogul Napier-Bell in conversation with Stuart Coupe at the Leadbelly in Newtown on September 11th, is set to see the industry legend impart his wisdom and tell tales of his long and storied career.
Napier-Bell’s career stretches back close to 50 years, and includes achievements and stories that most industry figures would dream of. From witnessing the birth of punk and disco, to working with The Yardbirds, Dusty Springfield, Boney M, and Sinéad O’Connor, to helping discover George Michael and Wham, Napier-Bell is undoubtedly one of the most interesting figures in the history of modern music.
In addition, the Australian Music Week have now added their electronic music program. Presenting showcasing opportunities for electronic artists at Miranda Hotel, the artists will also perform alongside a headline artist at The Shire’s premier EDM venue, Carmen’s Miranda.
With Australian Music Week dedicated to celebrating Australian music, the conference and showcase is also excited to help foster up-and-coming talent. With the event attracting countless agents, promoters, managers, labels, and media personnel, it gives all artists a unique showcasing opportunity to help them raise their profile and get discovered.
